In the Earth Sciences and Engineering program we investigate and model climatic, environmental, and geological processes of our home planet Earth. It focuses on computational Geosciences and has three tracks: Fluid Earth Systems which encompasses flow and transport processes both beneath and above the Earth’s surface, addressing research topics on subsurface, surface, atmospheric and ocean flows on various space-time scales. The Solid Earth Natural Systems track includes courses and research on earthquake seismology, global geophysics and geodynamics to study short-term and long-term deformation processes in the Earth. The Solid Earth Exploration track comprises the areas of seismic and geophysical exploration, as well as geomechanics to study reservoir characteristics and rock properties. All students are supported by Scholarships/Fellowships and have an opportunity to be involved in the global academic and research partnership with the best scientific geophysical centers in the world.
